Work/Life Balance

I've been joking (kind of) that 2023 was the year I experienced work/life balance. The first half of the year was all work and no life and the second half of the year was all life and very little work! Not really, but it sure felt that way.

But what do I want to experience as work/life balance? What do I want 2024 to look like?

I'm working on being ahead of things. Rather than continuing as I was, always feeling behind and late, I stopped all blogging except important updates about the shows I was doing, and started planning my posts for the new year. It feels so much better to just not feel behind!

On top of that, I've been making a point to just stop when things feel off. Or if my family needs me - though this can be challenging depending on how much notice. I will make it work no matter what, but I'm trying to leave room at the edges for life to happen.

I'm also working to stay ahead of events - holidays, special. markets, and all that fun stuff! Which means I have to be looking at the big picture and the details all the time - and I've got the digital tools and an amazing physical planner that are already keeping me on top of these things in a new way.

What are some specific things I'm working on?

  1. increasing online sales so I'm not as dependent on in-person market sales

  2. establishing myself in the in person market I'm part of so that I have a physical location and hours where people can find me

  3. looking ahead when I'm planning things so that I make sure to leave that room at the edges.

So what are you working on for the new year to make your life better? I'd love to hear from you.
