You might have heard me say “I don’t math – I art.” Especially when I’m trying to figure out a tally of items at market. But my math is leaps and bounds ahead of my tech skills.
A friend who works in tech has said very often that I’m the most tech savvy non-tech person she knows — but that non-tech carries a lot more weight when I’m doing something I’ve never done before … like building this website.
If you have tried to use my website and run into challenges – I am sorry. If you have tried to reach out to me through my website and not heard back – I didn’t get the email and I am so sorry. If you have wondered why I don’t market my site more – so many reasons! And that’s why I’m writing this.
I have been working to build my site for about a year now and I have learned so much! It’s a new version of sites and I got mine as one of the first of them so I went in knowing there would be some aspect of testing features going on, but I underestimated how frequent updates and further development would throw me off kilter when I was still trying to figure it out.
What am I doing about it? Several things!
- I received a grant that allows me to work with experts in some area that I’m trying to grow my business and I’m working with an amazing expert to sort this all out
- I’m working independently to learn everything I can – now that this platform has been around for a year there is more known and more tech people have shared solutions for things
- I decided to step back from a heavy in person market schedule over the summer so I could have more time to focus on this (it’s summer in Phoenix so this isn’t suffering, but it is limiting opportunities for in person sales to develop the opportunity for online sales – strategic and intentional, investment in the future) – I’m trying to keep my site and my Insta updated on what markets I am doing so check my main page and my calendar (I got those working! Yay!)
- I have some of my items in Static Hall (in the Melrose District) so that I have a place to send people who are looking for me!

So, thank you! Thank you for supporting me as an artist while I’m trying to figure it all out. And I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
And, I’m excited – the fact that I’m able to set aside this time, find these resources, and work with such an amazing expert to get this figured out means I’m ready to grow to the next level! I’m also spending time this summer creating some exciting new techniques and pieces that I’m really looking forward to sharing when they’re ready.
For now, though, I’m back to editing. And, if you run into challenges when you’re on my site, please message me on Instagram so I make sure to fix what you found.
